Set Subject Definitions
 
Bridges
This may be either the whole bridge or a part of the structure of a bridge
 
Urban jungle
A picture showing the less desirable or intimidating side of a city For example, an urban landscape without a tree in sight, a rubbish-littered lane, a traffic clogged street
 
Environmental portraits
A portrait that reveals something about the subject's lifestyle.For example, a person chopping wood, a lady carrying a basket.
 
Unusual angles
A picture in which the subject is taken from an angle other than eye level.
 
Motor vehicles
May be any sort of motor vehicle (car, truck, motor bike etc but horse and cart is out). Either the whole vehicle or a part of the vehicle, so long as it is clear what the vehicle is.
 
The elements (Paul Robinson trophy)
A picture portraying one or more of the ancient Greek elements air, earth, fire and water.
 
Household items
An unusual or imaginative photo of a familiar household object!
 
Doors or windows
Again, maybe an unusual view of a familiar subject, or the photo may reveal something special about the door or window..
 
Movement
An image that conveys the idea of movement. See the November 2008 issue of 'Australian Photography' for some ideas..
 
Patterns in nature
An image showing repeated or individual patterns caused by nature.
